What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a type of therapy that involves the massaging of the feet to treat and heal an individual's entire body. It is said to be a gentle type of therapy, used to restore the body's natural balance as well as to help maintain its equilibrium. Sometimes, reflexology involves the hands and ears as well as the feet. In most cases, however, only the feet are involved.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person, not just the prevailing symptoms.

Kate is a fully registered member of The Association of Reflexologists.

What is seated acupressure massage?
Seated acupressure massage (also called on-site massage) is based on the traditional Japanese acupressure technique called anma. Anma is Japanese for ‘press and rub’ and this therapy aims to stimulate the acupressure points in the head, neck, shoulders, spine and lower back.

What does it involve?
The client, fully dressed, sits facing forward in a ergonomically designed massage chair. As the client relaxes and rests their chin and forehead on a thickly padded platform designed for the purpose, I use my hands and fingers to apply pressure to the acupressure points on the client’s head, neck, shoulders, upper arms and spine. The sequence of movements (called a kata) takes about twenty minutes from start to finish, and leaves the client feeling relaxed, refreshed and energised.
